It’s been sometime since I posted. I am getting ready for the show -working on a larger piece and doing some framing on the side. As I mentioned in my previous post, here’s another piece using complimentary colors and shapes.

And here’s an evite of my show . The opening’s on August 14th @ Kaewyn Gallery in Bothell. The gallery features exhibits of the original works of  Northwest artists in a wide variety of media, styles, and subjects. Don’t forget to stop by if you are in town for the month!

11×14 – neocolors & cp’s

In this piece I was trying to juxtapose bright complimentary colors in close proximity to create a vibrant feeling. The next couple of pieces will be based on this similar idea but with pieces of crumpled paper.

Speaking of color theory, my friend Pam Belcher has started a series of musical instruments based on color theory. Her sense of style and expression is so unique! Check out her blog – click here

Another still life 8×10 , the usual.

I talked about the International Color Pencil show in Atlanta in my previous posts. They always have an auction set up during the convention. This year’s auction has a preview on their site -click here . Its just a wonderful collection this year! I am so sad that I won’t be able to go this year, hoping to be there for the next.

Cherries & Silver

It’s Cherry season here in the northwest and Rainier cherries are the cream of the crop:). I just realised how hard it is to photograph a painting with a lot of Red on it. I tried to adjust the colors in PS, still the camera doesn’t seem to capture the subtle tone differences.
