I will be explaining the tips and tricks on how to use minimal colors to render reflective surfaces. We will also discuss how to varnish and frame colored pencil works to avoid using glass over them.
Here are the details, please call the store to sign up, hurry!

“Colored Pencil Magic – Learn to create silver “
I have been busy with several things in my work and personal life that I did not have any time to write a blog post. I had a two person show at the #Sanramon Community Center which went really well. Thanks to Tri-Valley publications I was interviewed for a half-page article featuring my work on their newspaper – http://www.santacruzsentinel.com/article/zz/20150908/NEWS/150905311
I then took a vacation to Montreal & Quebec which was a fantastic experience! I am yet to download the pictures from my camera for this one.
On October 7, I had my woks at the Livemore Art Walk with my fellow CPSA 201 San Fancisco chapter members, sold a couple of prints and made some good contacts.
I do have a few of announcements to make, I will be participating in the Triton Museum Holiday Bazaar on Dec 5th. I will be posting more information regarding this event a later date. I will be having my second workshop at UART in San Jose sometime in January , stay tuned regarding the details.
Our Seattle District chapter of CPSA has come up with the Northwest Colored Pencil Tips Book! We did this several years ago and it was a fantastic hit that we had to do a second one. This book contains tips from 55 artists, chock full of information, tips, techniques covering various surfaces and methods. If you like Color pencil then this is a must have! Our editors Pam Belcher and Sheila Theodaratos have dedicated a lot of time and effort into putting this one together. I am so happy to be a part of this wonderful venture. My article is about “Stretching your Boundaries- overcoming the Artist’s block”. You can order this book online here – http://www.magcloud.com/browse/issue/989402?__r=339077&s=w

” Each year CPSA ( Colored Pencil Society of America ) sponsors an exciting and innovative exhibition called “Explore This!” on its website every year. Artwork must be predominantly colored pencil and must include some element or technique that is unacceptable for the International Exhibition. This permits artists to experiment with various mediums and surfaces as well as three-dimensional, collage and relief artworks. ”

I know I haven’t being a lot of art lately..I had been unpacking , setting up my studio, traveling, exploring the bay area art scene and catching up with my friends. I did find a couple of art groups here which I am a part of now, one is the Sunnyvale Art club and second is the FALC (Fine art League of Cupertino). I just got juried into FALC as their member during the April meeting.
I also won the first place in the Sunnyvale Art club monthly members show this month due to which I got to hang my piece at the Bean Scene Cafe in downtown Sunnyvale. The piece will be on display there for a month.
I am also getting ready for my workshop this weekend in Tucson with the TCPAA-http://www.tcpaa.net/ . It’s always a pleasure to share the love of Color pencil with so many people. I am so looking forward to it 🙂
I have more announcements coming your way soon, I will be having a spring sale of some of my older work for bargain prices! stay tuned!
